The Role

Rosalie Nursing Care Centre is a 40-bed home offering secure and intimate living to female residents. Rooms have a picturesque view of either gardens or the hillside overlooking Paddington. Local residents have come to appreciate Rosalie as the specialist dementia nursing home in the Inner Brisbane City precinct.

We are looking for a Part Time Leisure and Lifestyle Officer with dementia experience to carry out our lifestyle and recreation program.  This is part time position working Thursday – Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm and Saturday, Sunday 8:30am – 2:30pm.

Your key focus will be to carry out tailored 1:1 and group lifestyle recreational activities including outings & excursions by considering client needs, dignity and risk. Programs are designed in collaboration with our residents and their support network as well as management, the allied health and care team to meet resident needs and wants.

Our staff promote AQ's organisational values of Social Role Valorisation (SRV) principles and community policies and procedures in a manner that encourages the independence and engagement of residents in valued social roles within the facility and the community.

We are looking for Leisure and Lifestyle Officer who is:

  • Enthusiastic about helping residents to achieve their goals, aspirations & interests
  • Excellent relationship /interaction skills, can develop a good rapport with residents & carers
  • Organised & can plan efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Friendly team player
  • Flexible, adaptable and patient

Requirements

  • Minimum Cert III in Leisure & Lifestyle or Diversional Therapy
  • Leisure & Lifestyle Activity Aged Care experience
  • Good knowledge of people with dementia
  • Open Driver's Licence
  • National Police Check
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Up to date COVID vaccination
