Alzheimer’s Queensland is seeking an experienced and passionate Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator to lead and shape a vibrant lifestyle program within our Windsor residential aged care facility.

This is far more than an activities role. We are looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity and leadership to every day, creating meaningful experiences that enhance residents' wellbeing, independence, connection and quality of life. This role is not 100% office based; whilst there are things to plan and coordinate, we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being out on the floor and engaging with the residents and their families. 

You'll lead a small team, work closely with residents and families, and take ownership of planning innovative monthly programs, special events, community outings and personalised lifestyle initiatives that genuinely make a difference.

What you will do:

• Lead, mentor and support a team of Lifestyle staff to deliver exceptional resident experiences.
• Design, coordinate and evaluate engaging monthly lifestyle and leisure programs.
• Create and maintain lifestyle calendars, newsletters and resident communications.
• Conduct lifestyle assessments for new residents, including gathering lifestyle histories, interests and social engagement preferences.
• Develop, review and update lifestyle care plans and documentation.
• Build strong relationships with residents and families, including presenting at resident and relative meetings.
• Maintain a visible presence on the floor, ensuring activities are meaningful, engaging and person-centred.
• Coordinate special events, themed days, celebrations and community outings.
• Organise special lunches and events in collaboration with the kitchen team.
• Manage relationships with external providers including entertainers, musicians, hairdressers and community groups.
• Oversee petty cash and lifestyle budgets for activities and events.
• Drive the facility mini-bus for resident outings and excursions.
• Ensure compliance with aged care standards, documentation and reporting requirements.

What you will bring:

• Experience coordinating lifestyle, leisure, wellbeing or diversional therapy programs within aged care, retirement living, disability or community services.
• Demonstrated experience leading, motivating and developing small teams.
• A creative mindset with the ability to develop fresh, engaging and meaningful activities.
• Strong administration and computer skills, including calendars, documentation, newsletters and reporting.
• Experience completing assessments, care plans and resident documentation.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for aged care and enhancing the lives of older people.
• Confidence engaging with residents, families, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• A current driver's licence and confidence driving a mini-bus.

Desirable:

• Qualification in Diversional Therapy, Leisure & Health, Community Services, Individual Support or a related discipline.
• Experience working with people living with dementia.
• Experience using aged care documentation or clinical management systems.
