At AQ, the quality of the living environment within our homes is fundamental to delivering exceptional care. We are currently seeking experienced Casual Registered Nurses to join our passionate team at Garden City Aged Care Centre.

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing safe, person-centred, and evidence-based clinical care to our residents. You will work in genuine partnership with residents, their families, carers, allied health professionals, and the broader care team to support shared decision-making and holistic care planning.

This role requires flexibility to work casual weekday, weekend, and night shifts, while contributing to a warm, supportive care environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to residents, encompassing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring all procedures are conducted safely and effectively while meticulously monitoring residents' responses.
  • Perform regular, thorough assessments to identify changes in residents' conditions and take timely, appropriate action.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that are tailored to residents' preferences and goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, allied health professionals, and care staff, to ensure holistic and cohesive care delivery.
  • Maintain precise, accurate and timely documentation of all care activities in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Ensure that all incidents are managed, documented and reported as per professional and organisational standards (open disclosure)
  • Ensure that all clinical follow up requirements are actioned such as pathology requests and results, ambulance bookings, etc
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols within the facility at all times
  • Drive innovation in care delivery by identifying opportunities for improvement and leading initiatives that enhance residents' quality of life. 

 

Skills Requirements: 

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) with active registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated clinical experience, preferably within aged care settings.
  • Knowledge of aged care standards, legislation, and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven ability to deliver compassionate, person-centred care that upholds the dignity and rights of residents.
  • Dedicated to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in care planning, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and other relevant healthcare technologies
  • Strong leadership abilities, capable of inspiring, mentoring, and guiding a diverse healthcare team.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
