Join Alzheimer’s Queensland and play a key role in ensuring high-quality, person-centred care for older Australians. As our Quality & Improvement Officer, you will work across both community and residential services, leading complaint handling, quality improvement, and service investigations, as well as taking ownership of projects within the Clinical Governance team—all while reporting directly to the Director of Clinical Governance.
The Role
This hands-on position will have you:
- Support teams to deliver person-centred, high-quality care that promotes independence, wellbeing, and engagement
- Handle and investigate complaints, working collaboratively with staff to resolve issues fairly and effectively
- Ensure service standards, compliance, and minimum support levels are consistently met across community and residential services
- Identify, assess, and escalate risks or service gaps, providing guidance to teams for safe and effective care
- Lead audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and client experience
- Take ownership of and manage projects within the Clinical Governance team to drive quality, compliance, and innovation
- Coach, mentor, and educate staff, embedding best practice, independence, and quality-focused care
- Collaborate across teams and locations to maintain consistency, quality, and a culture of continuous improvement
- Prepare reports and updates for the Director of Clinical Governance and Leadership Team
About You
You are a professional who:
- Has experience in complaint management, quality improvement, or governance (aged care knowledge strongly preferred)
- Understands both residential and community aged care services and the differences in care delivery and standards
- Can investigate complaints and service issues collaboratively, balancing fairness, compliance, and client outcomes
- Is willing and capable of taking on and managing projects that improve services and strengthen governance
- Has strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Enjoys mentoring and supporting teams to embed best practice and maintain high standards of care
- Takes a proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach
