Be the driver of quality, compliance, and best-practice care across Alzheimer’s Queensland’s residential and community services. This is a hands-on, leadership role where your clinical expertise and operational knowledge directly shape the safety, quality, and experience of care for older Australians.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Governance, you will lead and guide clinical teams, providing day-to-day oversight while embedding person-centred care, exceptional customer service, and governance best practice. You will manage incident reporting, including SIRS notifications, conduct audits, identify areas for improvement, and provide strategic recommendations to support operational efficiency and service growth.
This role is ideal for a clinician with operational experience, strong business acumen, and a passion for coaching and mentoring teams in a dynamic aged care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead governance and quality initiatives across both community and residential aged care services
- Embed customer service excellence into clinical governance practices
- Oversee clinical compliance, risk management, and accreditation preparation
- Manage and support teams through incident investigations, SIRS notifications, and follow-up actions
- Conduct audits and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
- Develop and deliver staff training in clinical governance, compliance, customer service, and quality improvement
- Support operational managers with coaching and mentoring to embed best practice and strengthen service delivery
- Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Governance on reporting to the Leadership Team and Operational Manager
About You
You are a clinician and leader with:
- Proven experience in clinical governance, aged care compliance, or quality management
- Strong knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, legislative reforms, and registration requirements
- Ability to drive both compliance and service excellence, ensuring clients receive safe, person-centred care
- Demonstrated business acumen – able to analyse trends, identify risks, and implement improvements across services
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Experience with SIRS reporting and incident management
- Ability to work across both residential and community settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, educate, and motivate teams
- Proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach
