A position has become available for an experienced Cook/ Kitchen Hand to join our 60 bed facility at Garden City Aged Care Services in Upper Mt Gravatt.

You will contribute to an efficient team providing quality meals, excellent presentation and prompt service for our residents. In addition, you will have the important task of maintaining high level hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Preparing and serving high quality meals with care and creativity
  • Ensuring meals meet special dietary needs (texture-modified, allergies, etc.)
  • Maintaining excellent hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Collaborating with a dedicated team to provide a warm, homely dining experience

What We’re Looking For:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience in commercial kitchens, preferably in aged care or healthcare
  • Food Safety Certification (highly regarded)
  • Strong knowledge of dietary requirements and food safety standards (WHS, HACCP)
  • Competent in food preparation, cooking & plating
  • Team player with a positive attitude, attention to detail, and pride in presentation
  • COVID-19 vaccination and a valid police clearance
