Community Support Assistant

Alzheimer’s Queensland (AQ) is a progressive organisation committed to supporting older Australians to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes and communities.

We are seeking passionate Community Support Assistants to join our community care team on a casual basis. This role supports aged care clients aged 65 years and above within their own homes, delivering services with a strong person-centred care approach.

You will play a meaningful role in enabling clients to remain engaged in their community while maintaining independence and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and daily living support
  • Assist with social support and community access
  • Prepare meals and provide light domestic assistance
  • Maintain clear communication and accurate documentation

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or Community Care (essential)
  • Previous experience supporting older people in a community setting
  • Strong time management and ability to work autonomously
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Availability to commit to approximately 20 hours per week
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Current Queensland Open Driver’s Licence
  • Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Smart phone
  • National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
