Respite Assistant (Casual)

We are currently seeking experienced Respite Assistants to join our team on a casual basis in Mount Gravatt.

This rewarding role involves providing high-quality, person-centred care within a supportive respite environment for clients aged 65 years and over. You will play a vital role in creating meaningful daily experiences while supporting clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised, person-centred care and support to clients aged 65+
  • Provide high-quality respite support in a centre-based setting
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with clients and families
  • Support clients to maintain independence and meaningful engagement
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the broader care team
  • Uphold AQ’s person-centred, client-focused model of care

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting older people with leisure activities in community or respite settings
  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or Community Care
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • A genuine commitment to understanding and meeting individual client needs
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to attend staff meetings and ongoing education sessions

Salary & Benefits

  • $$47.16 per hour + Super + Salary Packaging
  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum tax-free (approx. $611.55 per fortnight)
