Lead Respite Assistant

Ipswich Multi Service Centre | Permanent Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Alzheimer’s Queensland (AQ) is a leading not-for-profit organisation delivering high-quality community and respite aged care services to older Australians aged 65 years and over. With over 500 specialist staff, we are committed to person-centred support that promotes dignity, independence, and meaningful engagement within the community.

We are seeking a Lead Respite Assistant to join our Ipswich Multi Service Centre in an independent, hands-on role supporting both respite and community service delivery.

About the Role

  • Support the Regional Services Manager with client intake, onboarding, and service commencement processes

  • Coordinate and facilitate personalised respite activities and community-based engagement programs

  • Assist clients in accordance with individualised support plans

  • Support and guide Respite Assistants in maintaining high standards of care

  • Maintain accurate client documentation, records, and reports to support high-quality service delivery

  • Contribute to the smooth daily operations of the centre and community services

About You

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (mandatory)

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in community or respite aged care

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

  • Current National Police Check, First Aid & CPR, and valid driver’s licence
