Assistant in Nursing (AIN)

Alzheimer’s Queensland (AQ) is a leading provider of aged care services, proudly supporting elder Australians to live with dignity, independence, and purpose. Our Mount Gravatt Aged Care Centre is seeking dedicated and compassionate Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to join our growing team.

We have permanent part-time and casual positions available, with flexibility across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

As an Assistant in Nursing, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents, including those living with low to high care needs. You will work under the direction of Registered Nurses and support the daily living needs of residents, contributing to a safe, comfortable, and engaging home environment.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
  • Supporting residents with mobility, hygiene, grooming, meals, and comfort
  • Promoting independence, dignity, and meaningful engagement
  • Upholding AQ’s Model of Care and maintaining a strong consumer-focused approach
  • Contributing to a positive, collaborative and supportive team culture

Successful candidate for this role must haves :

  • Minimum certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of experience in residential aged care
  • Understanding of dementia and person-centred care principles
  • Ability to work across AM, PM, and Night shifts
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting elder Australians
  • Ability to follow care plans, clinical directions, and organisational procedures
  • Clear National Police Check
