Alzheimer’s Queensland (AQ) is a leading non-profit provider dedicated to supporting older Australians living with dementia, memory loss, and age-related cognitive changes. Operational Since 1983, we have delivered high-quality residential care, community services, respite programs, and specialised dementia support across Queensland and New South Wales. Our mission is to empower clients and their families by providing compassionate, evidence-based care that enhances wellbeing and preserves dignity. We are a values-driven organisation built on innovation, respect, and continuous improvement — and our people are at the heart of what we do.
We are currently seeking a reliable and committed Casual Cleaner and Laundry Assistant to join our aged care home. This role plays an essential part in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for our residents. As part of our support team, you will contribute to the overall wellbeing of residents by ensuring that hygiene standards are upheld and that daily cleaning and laundry activities are completed efficiently and with care.
This role requires general cleaning duties throughout the home, including resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and staff spaces. You will also be responsible for using cleaning equipment safely, following infection control procedures, and contributing to a warm and welcoming environment for residents, families, and visitors. For the laundry component of the role, you will assist with washing, drying, folding, and returning linen and clothing, ensuring items are handled respectfully and in accordance with organisational guidelines.
Availability is essential for the smooth operation of the home. The cleaning shift runs from 6:30am to 2:30pm, and the laundry shift is required from 12:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This position is ideal for someone who is punctual, organised, and able to work independently while maintaining a positive and supportive attitude.
If you are passionate about contributing to the care of older Australians and enjoy working in a role where your efforts directly impact the comfort and quality of life of residents, this opportunity may be the right fit for you. Casual shifts offer flexibility, and you will be welcomed into a supportive team that values reliability, kindness, and teamwork.
To apply, please submit your current resume outlining your availability and interest in the role. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming dedicated individuals who want to make a meaningful difference in aged care.
