Alzheimer’s Queensland (AQ) is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Officer to join our experienced finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of accounts payable and receivable functions, including reconciliations, reporting, and stakeholder liaison.

Our operations encompass residential aged care facilities, multi-service respite centres, a resource and advisory centre, a CDC home care program, and a registered training organisation. 

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial processing across the accounts payable and receivable functions. Your duties will include:

  • Processing high volumes of accounts payable invoices, ensuring correct authorisations and accurate cost coding.
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • Preparing and executing regular accounts payable payment runs.
  • Managing accounts receivable billing, invoicing, and receipting.
  • Monitoring and following up on outstanding debtor accounts.
  • Assisting with front desk reception duties and responding to incoming telephone enquiries, as required.
  • Preparing monthly journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintaining and updating client spreadsheets for the CDC Home Care Program.
  • Lodging monthly claims with the Department of Human Services (DHS) in accordance with funding requirements.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Accounts Payable/Receivable position, ideally within a high volume transactional environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Experience with Accounts Payable/Receivable systems; prior knowledge of Attache software is highly desirable.
  • The ability to efficiently navigate and work across multiple databases and systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the capability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
