Location: Brisbane South – based at Upper Mount Gravatt (with support to Brisbane North – Gordon Park)
Employment Type: 0.6 FTE (Flexible hours – 3 days per week or shorter hours across 5 days)

Founded in 1983, Alzheimer’s Queensland (AQ) is a leading provider of aged care and community support services across Queensland and New South Wales. We are a not for profit organisation employing more than 500 dedicated professionals who deliver personalised residential aged care, community care, allied health, dementia education, and support services.

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Pilates Instructor to join our team. Reporting to the Allied Health Manager, this role is offered at 0.6 full-time equivalent, with flexibility in how the hours are structured — you can work 3 full days per week or spread your time across 3–4 hours per day over 5 days, depending on what suits you best.

The role is primarily based at our Upper Mount Gravatt clinic (Brisbane South), with occasional support to our Brisbane North site at Gordon Park. You’ll work closely with our allied health team, including physiotherapists and exercise physiologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Pilates-based group therapy sessions tailored to the needs of older adults, including those living with dementia, frailty, and chronic health conditions
  • Adapt exercises to suit varying levels of mobility, cognitive ability, and physical capacity
  • Monitor participants' technique, safety, and progression, making individual adjustments as needed
  • Support clients in achieving functional goals such as improved mobility, balance, strength, and wellbeing
  • Collaborate with allied health professionals to ensure integrated and person-centred care
  • Maintain accurate client records and contribute to program development
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment in all therapy sessions

About You:

  • APPI Pilates Instructor Certification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating group therapy or exercise sessions, ideally with older adults or in aged care settings
  • Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-centred, adaptable approach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Current driver’s licence and ability to travel locally as needed
